October 16-17: Reading Retreat benefiting Open Books
Join us for a Reading Retreat raising funds for Open Books.
This Reading Retreat is going “Choose Your Own Adventure!”
Date: October 16-17
Destination: New Buffalo, MI
We’ll head to New Buffalo, MI for a bookish weekend. We’ll have a book exchange a pre-loved book, have a book club discussion, explore New Buffalo, and have plenty of time for reading on our own. Planned activities will take place Friday night and all day Saturday.
Transportation Options: Take the train with us for romantic reading!

Meal Options:
Dinner Friday Night: Optional Group Meal (Tentative Location: The Terrace Room). We’ll have a book swap of pre-loved books.
Breakfast Saturday Morning: included at the Harbor Grand, if staying there
Brunch Saturday Midday: Optional Group Meal (Tentative Location: Post Boy). We’ll have a book club discussion of a pre-selected book (TBD!).
Dinner Saturday Evening: Optional Group Meal (Tentative Location: Beer Church). We’ll share our favorite reads from the weekend.
This event is a fundraiser to benefit Open Books.
Open Books is a non-profit organization focused on transforming lives through reading, writing, and the unlimited power of books. We are committed to partnering with communities in Chicago to ensure that youth and families have equitable access to be lifelong readers. The organization believes it is important that we break down systemic barriers to reading and literacy.
I kindly ask that if you join us, you make a donation to Open Books.
